Edit Metadata

Write a title, author, copyright notice, description and keywords into JPG, PNG, WebP and PDF files, for one file or many at once.

Tip: choose several files at once to process them all with the same settings.

How to use it

  1. 1Add a photo or PDF, or several to give them all the same details.
  2. 2Type a title, description, author, copyright or keywords. With one file, its current details are filled in for you.
  3. 3Leave a field empty to keep what the file already has.
  4. 4Press Save details, then download the edited copy.

Frequently asked questions

How do I add my copyright to many photos at once?

Choose all the photos together, type your name in Author and your notice in Copyright, and press Process. Every other detail of each photo stays as it was.

Will Windows and photo apps show the title and author?

Yes. They're written as XMP, which apps such as Adobe Lightroom and Bridge read, and in the fields Windows File Explorer shows under Properties, Details. Text in Hindi, Tamil and other Indian scripts is kept exactly as you typed it.

Does editing metadata change the photo or reduce quality?

No. Only the details are rewritten. The image data is copied unchanged, so the photo looks exactly the same.

Does it keep the camera details and location?

Yes. Everything you don't change is kept, unless you tick Remove everything else first. Then only the orientation, the colour profile and what you typed stay.

Can I change the date a photo was taken?

Yes. Set Date taken and it's written into the photo's EXIF and XMP, which apps that sort photos by date use. For a PDF it becomes the creation date.
