Document Scanner

Photograph a certificate, marksheet or form with your phone and get a straight, clean PDF or JPG. The paper's edges are found for you, shadows are cleaned up and the file can stay under a form's size limit.

For the best scan, put the paper flat on a darker surface in good light and hold the phone straight above it.

How to use it

  1. 1Take a photo of each page with your phone's camera, or choose photos you already have.
  2. 2Check each page: if the corners aren't quite on the paper's corners, drag them there, and turn any page that's sideways.
  3. 3Pick a look (Clean, Grey or Black & white), PDF or JPG, and a size limit if the form has one.
  4. 4Press Create, check the size, then download.

Frequently asked questions

How do I scan a document with my phone without an app?

Open this page on your phone and tap Take a photo. Put the paper flat on a darker table in good light, hold the phone straight above it and take the photo. Add the other pages the same way, then create the PDF.

How do I make a scanned PDF under 200 KB or 100 KB for an online form?

Tick Keep it under a size and type the limit in KB. Black & white makes the smallest files, often under 50 KB a page; Grey suits pages with photos or stamps. If a long document still won't fit, split it into two PDFs.

Why is my scan blurry, dark or shadowy?

Use daylight or a bright room, keep your hand's shadow off the paper and hold the phone still until it focuses. Avoid the flash: it leaves a shiny patch. Clean and Black & white take out soft shadows, but they can't sharpen a blurred photo.

Can I put several pages into one PDF?

Yes, up to 30 pages. Add the photos in any order, then move pages with the arrows, turn them or delete the ones you don't need before you create the PDF.
